| Ya'll might remember how I wrote awhile back about going with sanbarhero to hunt deer, and all, and how I couldn't get a hunting license and everything. Well, yesterday, he gave in and let me go, with the word that if we saw one, he'd let me shoot. But we'd only take one gun, sanbar's. |
| Well, about 5:15 in the evening, and it was getting dark, and sanbar had put his coffee bottle, and sunflower seeds and everything back in the bag, I looked way up the hill, and there was a deer! |
| MAN, it looked big as all getout! I said, "sanbar, let me shoot!". He said, "naw, it ain't big enough, and I'll have to clean it before supper". I said, "but man, it'll make 40 or 50 pounds of good hamburger meat, and you know how your wife is, about wanting plenty in the freezer". |
| Well, at that point, sanbar gave in. |
| He told me to take a breath and squeeze off, and I did just like he said. |
| When it was all over, sanbar told me, "well, pilgrim, we'll have meat for the winter". |
